Ellie Stiles is a MA editing graduate and freelancer from London. With an international education and a focus on revealing authentic stories, Ellie believes that sharing perspectives of the world through film is one of the most important things for personal and social growth. Influenced by online creators pushing the boundaries of honest and succinct storytelling, she is keen to bring that feeling into her professional work. When she’s not sat behind a computer desk, she is practicing yoga, listening to podcasts about saving the planet or befriending cats on the street. Having worked mostly assistant editing the past few years, she is keen to ultimately cut genre bending feature films.

In December 2020 I was one of the panelists on a BCPC hosted panel: Working Nine-to-Nine. With other below the line workers in post  we discussed what a more humane and equitable post-production workplace look like. The disruption of the Covid-19 pandemic has the potential provide space to rethink this concept and help make the workplace more fair and less stressful to everyone involved.
